I'm not going to ask your toddler to stand still. I'm going to follow them around and catch the version of your family you actually want to remember.
Most family photos are about everyone performing a version of themselves that doesn't really exist. Mine aren't. The sessions I do are about catching the actual texture of your family — the way your kid grabs your face, the look you and your partner share when no one's watching, the chaos you'll miss more than you think you will.
I See you
What makes a family session work isn't lighting or location. It's the photographer being someone your kids actually like. I've spent a long time in service work — bars, restaurants, weddings — learning how to put people at ease in environments that aren't always natural. By the time we're 20 minutes in, your kids won't be performing for the camera. They'll just be themselves, and I'll be catching it.
The best family photos come from kids who forget there's a camera. Getting them there is mostly about being a person they want to hang around.
Why this works
The process
Before we meet, I’ll send over a short questionnaire — not a stiff form, more like a real conversation on paper. I want to know what your family is actually like together. Who’s shy? Who’s the loud one? What does your kid genuinely love right now? The way I guide and photograph your session comes from those little details.
I’ll also send over a simple what-to-wear guide to make things easy. No matching outfits required, promise. Soft, neutral tones usually photograph and age the best, and I recommend avoiding large logos or bright neon colors. Beyond that, I want you to look like yourselves — comfortable, familiar, and like the version of your family you want to remember.
Before the session
The first 10 are usually awkward for everyone — that's normal, and I'll talk you through it. After that, most families relax into it without realizing. We'll do some gentle prompts ("tell each other your favorite thing about this week") and a lot of letting things happen on their own.
On the day
Your gallery will be delivered within about 3–4 weeks through an online gallery where you can download both high-resolution and web-sized images. A print release is included, so you’re free to print your photos wherever you’d like, but you’ll also have the option to order professional-quality prints and create custom heirloom albums directly through your gallery. If you need your photos back sooner, rush delivery can always be added on as well.
